2023 Featured Conference Speakers

As part of our 2023 Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship Conference, we are pleased to announce that Laurie Newton DNP, RN, CPNP-AC, PC and Jaime Fox DNP, CPNP-AC/PC will be presenting "Onboarding Essentials."

Jaime and Laurie are pediatric nurse practitioners and assistant directors for the  centralized pediatric APP fellowship program at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. They are preparing to start their 3rd cohort of APP fellows this month, and their presentaiton will share pearls of wisdom for onboarding APP fellows. They'll cover all aspects of the fellowship process from the open of applications, interviewing, credentialing, through the start and leading fellows through a successful “bootcamp.” 

Their presentation objectives are listed below:

1. Briefly review our centralized pediatric APP fellowship program and describe the process for applications & interviewing.
2. Describe introductory materials and instructions sent to all APP fellows prior to their start to facilitate a successful licensing and credentialing process, as well as to fellowship preceptors.
3. Explain the process of organizing a boot camp orientation week for APP fellows.
4. Illustrate an example boot camp, including clinical refreshers, simulations, and identification of resources.
5. Engage in an interactive discussion regarding best practices in onboarding of APP fellows with members in attendance.
