Position Description

A hospital-based oncology program in Portland, Oregon is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for an oncology locum tenens assignment. This is a well-structured role focused on follow-up and on-treatment patients only, with no new consults required.

The schedule offers consistency and balance, with four 10-hour shifts per week and a six-month initial contract with the option to extend. You’ll support established oncology patients through routine follow-ups, care coordination, lab and diagnostic ordering, and medication management in a collaborative clinical environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage follow-up oncology patients at 3, 6, and 12-month intervals
  • Support patients actively undergoing treatment
  • Order oncology-related labs and diagnostics
  • Coordinate care with ancillary services
  • Refill and manage oncology medications

Qualifications

  • Active Oregon or Washington NP license
  • Oncology experience required
  • DEA license in Oregon
  • Comfortable working independently in an oncology setting
