Position Summary:
The full-time or part-time Nurse Practitioner – HIV Specialist is responsible for providing and overseeing high‑quality, competent health care services for high‑risk populations, with a focus on individuals living with HIV and those who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, or other sexual and gender minorities (LGBTQIA+). The provider must be able to diagnose patients 16 years of age and older, recommend appropriate treatment plans, and prescribe or administer medications, immunizations, and other non‑surgical interventions. Cultural sensitivity and responsiveness to the needs of the LGBTQIA+ community are essential.

In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the total compensation range for this position is USD $125,000.00 to USD $170,000.00 When determining an offer, VNA Health Group considers factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's work experience, education/training, relevant skills, internal pay equity, and market and organizational conditions. The total compensation range reflects the total package, including base salary, overtime, bonuses, add-on incentives, special clinical compensation, retirement plans, and all other benefits. Principal Responsibilities:
- Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers
- Provides client teaching to individuals and families when appropriate
- Maintenance of a clinic panel of people living with HIV and other patients appropriate to ongoing infectious disease oversight
- Provide health and wellness advice; order age appropriate screenings, immunize patients against preventable diseases
- Maintains complete patient records using the Electronic Medical record and complies with all reporting mechanisms
- Monitors quality and appropriateness of services provided
- Identifies new services or programs relevant to agency’s mission and philosophy
- Adheres to agency infection control and safety policies and guidelines of primary care regulatory agencies
- Supervises staff in conjunction with the organization’s managerial and leadership practices
- Ability to treat and manage complicated and uncomplicated patients living with HIV/AIDS
- Licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse in NJ
- Master’s degree in Nursing from an NLN accredited program
- Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority; maintain an active CDS and DEA license
- 2+ years of primary or ambulatory care nursing experience required. Business or management degree or experience preferred with demonstrated leadership skills
- Car and valid driver’s license
- Experience in treatment of people living with HIV
- Knowledge of current HIV treatments
- AAHIVS certification a plus
